For a long time, the hardest days for me to dress for were my days off. After sleeping in on Saturday, when running late to meet friends for brunch or traveling for a weekend trip, I used to stare at my closet full of tailored work dresses and cocktail attire feeling like an idiot for investing in so many sequins and not enough light-weight jackets. Over the past few years, I have really focused on pieces that can be dressed up and down, and worn in multiple seasons. And I have to say that all of my fashion focus has definitely paid off.
One of the spoils of my shopping labor has been my new go-to Sunday brunch look. My new “easy Sunday/ slept in/ I want to look stylish but be comfortable” outfit consists of the following. A dress with a classic shape + a light-weight jacket + a Clare V clutch + tortoise sunglasses + a shoe that gives me some height. For me this equals the perfect balance of expressing my personal style, while being occasion appropriate and comfortable enough to run errands or stroll around a museum. Stay tuned to see how I rely on this style equation and at the same time mix it up next week. Have a great week, everyone!
