Classic is a word that gets over used a lot in the fashion world, but I’m about to use it just a little bit more. I’ve always been inclined to a more “classic” point of view. I work in the vintage clothing world, I want longevity in all of the garments that myself and my styling clients wear, and I tend to love clothes that are not of the disposable kind.
So, it’s natural that I would say that I like “classic” styles, but what I’m realizing is that I may actually just like clothes that I’m going to love for a very long time. Take todays look for example…I’ve had this 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt for 6.5 years, and still love it just as much as the day I bought it. This leopard clutch has been on heavy rotation ever since I got it as a Christmas gift 3 years ago, and this cable knit sweater is one that J.CREW makes every year, and I have loved it for 3.
My trusty moto vest, I have only had since this summer, and has been a go-to in all seasons and I predict that I’m going to love it long after it’s sold out. What I’m getting at is this…I always have something to wear that I feel confident and happy in because I buy things that I will not just love for one season. And, I want that for you too. I hope that you rely on me to find fashion that isn’t just a flash in the pan.
To find clothes that you will love, and will love you back. Pieces that you will wear for years, pieces that are timeless and pieces that are kind to our earth because we aren’t throwing them out after just one season. That’s my hope for 2016! xoxo
