My goal with this series is to help you shop better, fill your closet with pieces that you will love for a long time and always keep you looking fresh and up-to-date. Much like an investment analyst, I’m here to advise you on what to scoop up, lay off of and keep in your closet. Today I’m starting from the bottom up with every girls favorite, SHOES! I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think!
Right now loafers are very on trend, and could not be more classic in the long run. Whether you like a pair with a more feminine flair, or the classic Gucci style that is borrowed from the boys, loafers are an easy, and comfortable way to update your look. Wear them with dresses, skirts, shorts and of course jeans and pants.
store// unstructured ballet flats
While a classic, structured ballet flat like Chanel or Ferragamo is always in style, the unstructured ballet flat is looking a little tired these days. We have loved them for more than a decade now when they came back in a major way, and right now it’s time to go for a more structured shoe.
If you have a high-end pair that is in good condition, I would suggest storing them away for when they come back around. But if you have a more disposable pair that has seen better days, better to toss them out and focus on a more current look.
hold// valentino rockstuds
This nouveau classic has been such a fashion force since it burst onto the scene half a decade ago. When working with my clients that have Rockstuds in their style arsenal, it’s hard to find something that they don’t look good with.
They add just the right amount of ladylike-edge to everything from distressed jeans to a pretty, floral dress. So with that, I suggest that you hold onto your Rockstuds for a while longer. They still seem fresh and incredibly versatile to me, even though they have been around for a while.
