Lately, I’ve been writing a lot about my current uniform that has gotten me dressed and on my way quickly and stylishly. Joggers, ballet flats, a sleek vest and classic top has been my go-to outfit of choice for day-to-day dressing. Today my current uniform is all dressed up because I’m trading my joggers in for a brocade skirt and my comfy ballet flats for some gold booties.
I wore this outfit this past weekend to a baby shower and could not have felt more appropriate. On that particular day I styled this look with gold strappy, stacked heels because it was 80 degrees here in Houston…so obnoxious for January weather. But regardless of the shoe choice, I felt the perfect amount of dressed up and was oh-so comfy.
Pink and gold is one of my favorite color combos right now, and this look would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. This pink vest has gotten a lot of action ever since I scooped it up on sale back in November (I also wore it with jeans last week to Book Club), and I always love an excuse to pull out this Ferragmo clutch that can double as a cross body bag. Always a fan of having a basic t-shirt collection, this basic J.CREW tee somehow seems dressy when paired with glam, gold booties and a brocade skirt.
Sometimes we tend to go way outside our comfort zone when getting dressed up, but when you have an outfit formula that works for you there is no reason to stray far from your tried and true silhouette.
