To me, what makes a piece worth buying is it’s versatility. It’s so easy during an incredible sale, like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, to buy things you won’t wear just because they’re a good deal, so today I’m inspired to share what I think are some incredibly versatile, and realistic, pieces that are definitely worth investing in during this year’s #NSale.
jackets & coats
It’s hard to even envision wearing a jacket during the hot summer months, but getting a classic jacket, blazer or coat at a sale price is an incredible deal. I’ve never regretted scooping up a classic navy blazer, and I can always put my lightweight jean jacket to use. This camel Trina Turk coat is so beautiful and would go with neutrals and bright colors alike. It’s always a good idea to snag a leather moto jacket while it’s on sale, and you can’t go wrong with a green jacket whether it’s cargo or quilted.
A versatile accessory can be one of the truest friends in your closet because they go with so much and transform tons outfits in a snap. I’m not sure how we got so lucky, but Oscar de la Renta is offering their classic tassel earrings on SALE in four different colors for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the red and lavender are my personal favorites.
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with this gold Rebecca Minkoff bag, and this Madewell tote is absolutely fantastic for work or a busy day. These Jackie O inspired Gucci sunglasses are so incredible, and you cannot beat a Michele watch on sale…woah!
I didn’t intentionally focus on button ups and ruffles when I chose the six most versatile tops from the #NSale, but that’s clearly what I was drawn to. This stars and stripes Equipment blouse is so easy to wear, and this updated polo blouse is oh-so-chic. I’m always a sucker for a pajama detail, and this black bell sleeve top is so great for work to weekend. This polkadot shirt also comes in solids, and looks so comfortable.
Yesterday I ran to Nordstrom to return this white t-shirt that didn’t work on me, and decided to try on these AG boyfriend jeans that I had been eyeing, and well they came home with me. They are so comfy, slimming and are just what I need as my old boyfriend jeans just kicked the bucket. Size down FYI, I usually wear a 28 and I bought a 27.
Pleated skirts are so versatile for everything from work to weekend, and I love these black midi, gold velvet and navy faux leather styles. I can personally attest to how versatile a pair of polkadot pants can be, and this pair from DVF is both flattering and easy to pair with tons of things. While at Nordstrom yesterday I saw these crepe joggers IRL and they are really well made, and look super comfortable.
The most versatile shoes aren’t always solids, case and point these leopard heels and these adorable gingham flats (that also come in so many great colors like blush velvet). I’m a huge fan of a comfy, nude heel that works for day, and a Chelsea boot is always in style. Blush flats are so big right now, and so flattering to your legs, so these suede loafers and rhinestone slides are definite winners.
