the trench

Mr Dittner surprised me with this trench coat as a little gift before we went to Paris for the first time almost five years ago, and I’m still so in love with it. What is it about a timeless, trench coat that can make even the laziest and most casual outfits look amazing?! Whatever it is, I’m such a fan, and so is Who What Wear…they just declared 2018 the year of the trench coat. For a little trench coat outfit inspiration from my past posts, click here.

the sweater

For the past couple of years, I have been obsessed with wearing blush pink during the winter season. I think it may be because I want to look like the Sugarplum Fairy during the holidays, and that just continues into the new year. Whatever the reason, I love light pink in the winter. I most recently took this pink sweater to Colorado for Christmas where it was great worn casually (see my Instagram feed for photos), and I loved wearing it in Houston layered with a striped shirt. It’s also definitely coming with me to Fashion Week next month.

the blouse

I love a piece of clothing that can be the main focus of the outfit, and play a supporting character. This leopard blouse has definitely been that ever since I got it this summer. Worn with a plaid bomber jacket, with camo pants, or with a sleeveless trench, this chameleon of a garment is so easy to layer with other pieces, or let stand on its own. The weight is great for tucking in, letting out or fading into the background like it does today with this pink sweater.

Sizing suggestion…I’m wearing the medium and like it slightly oversized, but if you want a more traditional blouse fit, size down one size.
