athleisure pants

Today I’m trying the super popular, and super comfortable, athleisure look. At first I really resisted the idea that clothes you can work up a sweat in can be worn as an actual outfit, but as designers like J.McLaughlin and Tory Burch turn out athleisure ideas that look like actual clothes, I’m getting into it.

The pants I’m wearing today are the Carmel pant that J.McLaughlin offers in this super stretchy, and workout friendly, fabric that comes in tons of prints and solids. I paired mine with Chanel flats to dress them up, but they also look great with everything from a sandal or a sneaker. They run one size big FYI.

jean jacket

I love a jean jacket because it can dress things up and down depending on what you pair it with. Something like a striped t-shirt and athleisure pants can look pulled together with a jean jacket, and an LBD can look perfectly appropriate for a casual day. Most recently I paired my jean jacket with a floral skirt and sweatshirt, and really loved how it turned out.

chanel flats

The last time I was in Paris one outfit that really struck me in the sea of style inspiration, was worn by a girl that was leaving a yoga studio. She had on black yoga pants with a fur sweatshirt and Chanel flats. I had never thought to wear my Chanel flats to and from a yoga or barre class, but why not? If I don’t need running shoes for my workout, why not go with a pretty shoe. Ever since I saw that I have sprinkled in my Chanel flats when going to my barre classes and it always puts some extra glamour in my day.
