what I’m wearing

pink beret: BURU c/o, love this similar pink beret & this pink beret // red lipstick: Physicians Formula, Tu-Lip // ruffle jacket: BB Dakota // black dress: HATCH (sold out), also love this black dress // leopard bag: Clare V. c/o // black heels: J.McLaughlin c/o, also love this similar pair //

the jacket

Even though I’m officially into the phase of pregnancy that requires maternity jeans, longer dresses and almost exclusively bump-friendly tops, one thing I can still wear is jackets. This tweed, ruffle jacket caught my eye for the style, and sold me when I saw the under $100 price. I wore it last week to lunch with a friend, even though it was still almost 100 degrees in Houston that day, and the un-lined construction made it perfect for transition dressing.

the beret

Berets are a huge trend this fall, and I’m using that fact as an excuse to pull out every beret I own, and add at least one (this mustard yellow beret from Madewell) to my accessories closet. The pink one I’m wearing today is from BURU last winter so it’s sold out, but I found two great pink beret options (find them here & here). I’m a fan of all things French, so when appropriate, a beret is the way I love to go.

the dress

This not-so-little black dress was such a staple when I was pregnant with Bea, and I seriously don’t know how I could clothe myself without it at this point. No matter how I’m feeling, it always makes me feel as slim as possible, and it’s the perfect laying piece for jackets in the fall. I wore it to a luncheon the other week, and it totally works with Converse for school pickup. This exact one is sold out since it’s from two years ago when I was pregnant with Bea, but I love this new one from the same designer.
