I’m so thrilled to share the nursery and name for our newest bundle of joy. I haven’t officially announced it yet, but if you follow me on Instagram, I bet you guessed that Baby Dittner number two is a GIRL! Margot is her name, and this is her sweet nursery designed by my dear friend, Emily Davis. Big sister Beatrice is so excited to welcome her baby sister in just a few weeks. Scroll down to read more about the nursery design and get product details.
When we found out we were pregnant with Margot, it was a total surprise, and a little sooner than we thought we would be welcoming another little one, so my first goal was to make sure Beatrice would be okay with this big change. When siblings come along, usually parents move their oldest into a “big kid” room, a bigger bed and put the new baby in the nursery.
Bea is such a good sleeper, isn’t ready for a big girl bed and is so settled in her room, that I didn’t want to shake any of that up for her, so we embarked on basically recreating her nursery, in a different color palette, in the former guest room for her sister.
I’m still so in love with Emily’s design for Bea’s room, see her nursery here, and wouldn’t change a thing even two years later, so we decided to follow Emily’s genius formula for the room, and instead of doing red, white and blue like we did for Bea, do red, white and blush for Margot.
The framed drawings that are hung around the mirror are extra special to me because I’ve had them in mind for a girl nursery for several years. A dear friend gifted me a calendar with these drawings, and I kept the calendar for three years hoping to get to use them in a nursery for another baby girl.
When we found out Margot is in fact a girl, I cut them out, and sent them to Framebridge where they did an incredible job framing them, especially since they were all slightly different sizes. I’ve searched the internet high and low to try to find this calendar for you, but I can’t find it anywhere. It’s called “suitcases of great escapes” from Little Low. Let me know if anyone finds it!
Another dear friend of mine gave me these matching Jellycat bunnies, so I had their ears monogrammed with “Beatrice” and “Margot.” Jellycat is the favorite stuffed animal brand here at the Dittner house because they are so soft, cute and lovable. These bunnies are the small and medium size.
the changing table & glider
For Bea’s changing table, we found a gorgeous vintage sideboard, that we have pretty much destroyed over time due to baby and toddler wear and tear, so this time I wanted to go with a less expensive, more durable, option. So we chose this classic Ikea dresser with lots of storage, and added these fantastic brass pulls to really dress it up.
For the glider, we love the one Emily chose for Bea’s room so much that we ordered the exact same one, same color and everything, and added this Greek Key boarder, just like Bea’s nursery. I’m hoping the girls will share a room when they are older, and I love the idea of these gliders in their room together for a cozy little corner to read and snuggle.

We love Bea’s classic Jenny Lind crib because it’s super durable, and affordable, so we ordered the exact same one for Margot. We are using the same custom crib skirt that we did in Bea’s room, and this incredible bird painting by Willa Heart, ties the entire room together while making an incredible statement.
