post-baby uniform

Today I’m so excited to publish my first blog post since Baby Margot arrived. She is such a little love, and I’m so enjoying being home with her soaking up her newborn snuggles, and getting to know her personality.

In my current post-baby body, getting dressed is pretty tricky being that I have 29 pounds to lose. My pre-baby clothes are far from fitting, so I’ve been doing some shopping and looking for flattering and functional things I can wear now and later. Scroll down to see more from this outfit and to read about my current go-to pieces.

Layers are key when you want to disguise a little extra weight, so when I saw this striped trench vest for under $50, I ordered it immediately. I’ve also worn it as a dress for a client meeting by layering it over a long sleeved t-shirt and buttoning it up. When Bea was born, I borrowed from the boys and wore Mr Dittner’s old button up shirts, but this time I found this fantastic striped shirt dress that has been perfect with vests, jackets and worn by itself.

For several seasons I have considered ordering the much-loved Spanx faux leather leggings, and since I needed a dressier legging option, I ordered them and I totally see why so many people are obsessed with them. I wanted an upgrade to my usual classic Converse sneakers, and these new Converse platforms are so comfy and a couple extra inches of height never hurt anyone.

One of the biggest staples in my post-baby uniform is a Lele Sadoughi headband. They make me feel like a princess, don’t pinch my head so I can wear them all day, and I think they take attention away from my often dirty hair and newborn-induced dark circles (hehe). Today I’m wearing the my biggest headband splurge, the ivory pearl headband. I rotate this one with my leopard headband and my denim headband. With these three in the mix, I have one to go with pretty much everything.
